The Various Different Types of Stance Suspension Explained

If you’re looking to lower your ride, you may have found during your initial research that there are many different ways to do it and products to do it with. In this blog, we look at the various different types of stance suspension setup, so that you know what to expect.

The term covers quite a wide variety of different styles of ride, with some offering more extreme results than others. So, sit back, buckle up and we’ll take you through the different ways in which you can drop your car down and make it look majorly cool.

Slammed & Dropped Stance Suspension

The first two we look at are ‘slammed’ and ‘dropped’. Firstly, slammed stance suspension refers to a setup that is literally slammed right down to the floor and has the wheels tucked into the wheel arches. ‘Dropped’ simply means that your ride has been lowered using aftermarket suspension kits meaning that your drive handles better and looks cooler.

Flushed & Hellaflush Stance Suspension

Next, we have the flushed setup, which means that your car has wider wheels, sits low to the ground and features a low amount of camber. Hellaflushed suspension, on the other hand, also involves lowering your suspension low to the ground, whilst at the same time installing offset and oversized rims.

Hellafail & Paddiflush Suspension Setups

Now we move onto a quite extreme way to lower your car with what’s known as hellafail stance suspension, which is similar to hellaflush, but involves a crazy amount of negative camber. This setup looks cool but can be hard to drive. Lastly, we have paddiflush, which involves wide wheels protruding out from the wheel arches and a lowered ride.

These various different types of lowering methods fall into the stance suspension category, in that they are used to make the car they’re fitted to more visually appealing. Some of the more extreme methods (like hellaflush) actually reduce a car’s handling performance but add a lot to its exterior appearance. It all depends on what you want to achieve.

Buy Your Stance Suspension From a Reputable Retailer

As you can see, there are as many ways to lower your car as there are kits to do it with, but if you’re aiming to improve how your car looks, rather than how it drives, you should be looking at stance suspension as your preferred option. That’s because this type of auto suspension is designed to do just that.
