June school holidays are upon us and that means the beginning of Summer blockbuster season! We piece together all the movies that will be released in June 2018 – there will be tears, laughter and suspense. There’s even an Italian Film Festival for you to feel like you’re soaking up the Italian summer sunshine. Mamma Mia! Ciao Bella!

Italian Film Festival

The Italian Film Festival brings us the finest of Italian contemporary cinema, where most films which have competed in top film festivals such as Cannes and Berlin. The festival consists of a five films – Italian Race (Veloce come il vento), Naples In Veils (Napoli velata), The Place, Like Crazy (La pazza gioia), Holding Hands (La tenerezza), Cinderella The Cat (Gatta cenerentola) – a mix of action drama, comedy, thriller and animation – something for any Italian film fan.


Veere Di Wedding (Hindi)

Ten years later when these four best friends reunite, they don’t realize how much life has changed from what they expected. The film is set against the backdrop of Delhi, where the girls are born and brought up. They struggle with their trials and tribulations involving family acceptance, marriage and societal perceptions.


Carry On Jatta 2 (Punjabi)

Carry on Jatta 2 is the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster comedy, directed by Punjabi director Smeep Kang. The story follows Jass (Gippy Grewal), a happy-go-lucky orphan who’s sole purpose in life is to go to Canada by any means possible. After numerous taunts from his landlord, Advocate Dhillon (Jaswinder Bhalla) and his best friend Goldy (Binnu Dhillon), Jass decides that marrying a Canadian girl is the only way he can fulfill his dream. Jass appoints his friend Honey (Gurpreet Ghuggi) to the task, who then introduces him to Meet (Sonam Bajwa). Jass succeeds in wooing Meet but confusion arises as he learns more about the particular qualities Meet wants in her future husband. What kind of tricks and sticky situations do Jass, Goldy and Honey get themselves into during the quest to fulfill Jass’s Canadian dream?

Ocean’s 8 is an American heist comedy film directed by Gary Ross and written by Ross and Olivia Milch. The film is a spin-off of Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy. Inspired by her brother Danny Ocean, estranged sister Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first step is to assemble the perfect crew: Amita (Mindy Kaling), Tammy (Sarah Paulson), Lou (Cate Blanchett), Constance (Awkwafina), Nine Ball (Rihanna), and Rose (Helena Bonham Carter).

Two people are poisoned to death by hydrogen sulfide at hot springs located in different regions. The police ask Professor Shusuke Aoe (Sho Sakurai), who is a geochemist, to determine whether the deaths were caused by freak accidents or were murders. While investigating the cases, Shusuke Aoe comes across Madoka Uhara (Suzu Hirose). She guesses correctly that a natural phenomenon will take place. The police begin to suspect Madoka might be related to the deaths and a third case takes place.

Nelson), also known as Mr. Incredible, stays at home caring for their children Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner) and Jack-Jack, discovering the baby’s secret powers in the process. Also, the Parrs and their ally Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) find they must battle a new villain, who goes by the name of Screenslaver.

After a sudden explosion at Tokyo Summit’s giant Edge of Ocean facility, the shadow of Tōru Amuro, who works for the National Police Agency Security Bureau as Zero, appears at the site. Kogorō is arrested as a suspect in the case of the explosion. Conan conducts an investigation to prove Kogorō’s innocence, but Amuro gets in his way.
