Mortal Engines

Fantasy film Mortal Engines is written and produced by Sir Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, based on the award-winning book series written by Philip Reeve. The post-apocalyptic movie is directed by Christian Rivers, who has worked with Jackson for more than two decades as a storyboard artist. She was also in charge of visual effects and worked as a Splinter Unit Director on The Hobbit trilogy.

Set 1,000 years in the future after civilisation is destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of life has evolved. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan) encounters a dangerous fugitive, Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar), who has been fighting for her survival. Together, they forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future as they uncover a terrible secret festering at the heart of London.

Modern heist thriller, Widows is set against the backdrop of crime, passion and corruption. It is story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands’ criminal activities. Veronica (Oscar winner Viola Davis), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez) and Belle (Cynthia Erivo) take their fates into their own hands to attempt a heist in order to pay back a crime boss after their criminal husbands are killed on a botched job. Directed by Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave) from a screenplay by McQueen and Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl), the movie also stars Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Robert Duvall and Daniel Kaluuya.


The Wrath (Korean)

Release date: December 6, 2018

The South Korean horror mystery film, The Wrath is a remake of the 1986 Korean horror film Woman’s Wail and stars Seo Young-hee and Son Na-eun. Set in the Joseon era, the story follows two Joseon women – Ok-boon (Son) and Madam Shin (Seo) turn against each other when a tragedy befalls a family of three sons who all died on their wedding day. Ok-boon is brought into a great mansion, where mysterious deaths have occurred, and meets Madam Shin, the lady of the house with a great secret. Ok-boon must face the terrifying truths beyond imagination when the dead begin to cry out loud.


Kedarnath (Hindi)

Kedarnath is a romantic drama film written, directed and co-produced by Abhishek Kapoor, featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in leading roles. It tells a story of a wealthy Hindu girl who takes a 14-kilometre pilgrimage from Gauri Kund to Kedarnath, the historic 2,000-year-old holy temple of Lord Shiva in the Uttarakhand mountains, where she meets and falls in love with a humble Muslim boy who becomes her guide. As their relationship grows closer along the journey, the pair faces many obstacles, including familial disapproval and a clash of backgrounds. Their love is further tested when the sudden 2013 Uttarakhand floods devastate the region.

The lord of the seas of DC Comics is getting his own solo feature in the upcoming Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. He is forced to step up and reconcile his loyalties to the surface world, as well as to lead his people against his brother, Orm, who seeks to unite the seven kingdoms against the surface world. Directed by James Wan, the film also stars Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman and a guest role by Julie Andrews.


Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

The animated superhero film is based on the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) where he has to juggle his high school life and his status as a superhero who saves his city. In an unexpected incident, he manages to cross parallel dimensions in a shared multiverse called “Spider-Verse”, which features different Spider-Man superheroes in alternative universes. He teams up with his new found friends to stop a threat to all reality. Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman, the film features a voice cast that includes Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen, Mahershala Ali as Aaron Davis, Jake Johnson as Peter Parker, and Liv Schreiber as Kingpin.

Set in 1930’s London, 25 years after the events of the original film, it sees Poppins, the former nanny of Jane (Emily Mortimer) and Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw), returning to take care of the new Banks children after a family tragedy. She is joined by a street lamplighter named Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda), and an eccentric cousin named Topsy (Meryl Streep).

Dick Van Dyke is the only actor from the original to return, portraying the son of one of his original characters. Set in 1935 London, 25 years after the events of the original film, it sees Poppins, the former nanny of Jane and Michael Banks, returning after a family tragedy.


The Possession of Hannah Grace

Locked alone inside the basement corridors, Megan begins to experience horrifying visions and starts to suspect that the body may be possessed by a ruthless demonic force. The film also stars Stana Katic, Grey Damon and Nick Thune.
