Are you planning to watch The Foreigner, an action film starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan? Why not catch a charity priority preview organised by Clover Films and Golden Village happening two days ahead of the movie’s official release?

Tickets to the charity screening, happening on September 27, are priced at $25 each for GV Movie Club members as part of its 10th Anniversary celebration. All the proceeds collected from the screening will be donated entirely to Sopheak’s Friendship School, a Cambodian cause supported by local actor Thomas Ong.

Sopheak’s Friendship School is a self-funded initiative to provide free English lessons to the local children. Mr Ong says, “In Cambodia, knowing English helps the children to have better job prospects and will enable them to improve the lives of their families and fellow villagers. The collective effort from each person’s contribution becomes a huge strength. By helping others, we will also feel enriched knowing that we have done something to make a difference to lives.” He will make a special appearance before the two screenings at GV Suntec City on Wednesday.

Starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan, action-drama movie The Foreigner is based on a 1992
novel, The Chinaman. The British-Chinese co-production also features Charlie Murphy, Orla Brady, Liu Tao and Katie Leung. The movie tells the story of Quan (Jackie Chan), a humble London business man, whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when his teenage daughter dies in a senseless act of politically motivated terrorism. His relentless search to find the terrorists leads to a cat-and-mouse conflict with an Irish government official Hennessy (Pierce Brosnan), whose own past may hold the clues to the identities of the elusive killers.

The Foreigner is co-distributed by Clover Films and Golden Village Pictures in Singapore. The movie
sneaks islandwide from September 28 to 29 and opens from September 30.
