Just two months ago, nobody really knew who Gal Gadot was, besides being a hot actress with an alliterative name. Then Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came, and boom! Suddenly we saw her name appearing in all the posters of the movies that she starred in, no matter how small the role. The actress has been in showbiz since 2004, but only recently has she become a household name.

So here’s some info about Gal Gadot/Wonder Woman that you can wow your friends with. She’s an Israeli model-actress, and fronts the Bamboo perfume by Gucci by being the face of that brand. You’ve actually seen her in many, many movies, just that she didn’t have very large or memorable roles. She’s also a whopping 178cm tall, and even served NS in Israel for two years!

Before she wielded a sword and shield, Gal Gadot toted a pistol and a sports car in the Fast & Furious series. She just a minor character in the first film, but played a big role in the fifth and sixth instalments. Unfortunately, she made the ultimate sacrifice in Fast & Furious 6. She came really close to starring in the Star Wars franchise though, because she died to save her boyfriend – and his name was Han Seoul-Oh (Han Solo).

Really. I’m not kidding.

So you thought that Gal Gadot could only play action chicks? Surprise! She appears in Date Night, a comedy that sees heavyweights like Steve Carrell and Tina Fey in it. Admittedly, it’s a rather small role, since she doesn’t even appear in most plot synopses (she plays the girlfriend of Mark Wahlberg’s character).

Still, it shows that she’s pretty versatile when it comes to genres in films!

She sure has an affinity for knights huh? First she stars in Date Night, then Knight and Day, and then she appears in a film with the Dark Knight (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice). She’s a villainess in this one, being the henchwoman of the main antagonist of the film. That’s pretty much it for her role in Knight and Day, but at least she got to play an evil character in this one.

No, she doesn’t star in that show with James Lye and Wong Li-Lin. Instead, this is a rather boring cop movie that plasters her name on the poster, despite her playing only a bit role in the film. In fact, the picture above should explain why she was brought onboard for the movie.

Still, it sort of gives us a prelude to Wonder Woman vs Falcon, since Anthony Mackie stars in it too.

And then we have the film that will forever cement her name with Wonder Woman! We see her in both her civilian identity, Diana Prince, and her superhero identity, Wonder Woman, in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Of all the characters in the film, she’s the most excited to be there, since she’s the only one who ever smiles during battle. In fact, she even flashes the audience a broad grin in the final battle against Doomsday!

She’ll get her own film, Wonder Woman, next year, but if you can’t get enough of her this year, then you should check out our next entry, Criminal.

Jill Pope is one of those ironic names where, you know, someone with the surname Pope does very un-Pope-like things. In Criminal, Gal Gadot plays the onscreen wife of Ryan Reynolds. However, Bill (Ryan Reynolds) gets his mind transplanted into another criminal.

If you think about it, that’s kind of like Wonder Woman being in a love triangle with Green Lantern and Deadpool (both played by Ryan Reynolds), isn’t it?

So what exactly happens in Criminal? Well, Ryan Reynolds plays a secret agent who dies without revealing critical information. So they implant his memories into a death row inmate, Jericho Stewart (Kevin Costner) (who’s a steward for his memories, geddit geddit?), in the hopes of having him fulfill his final mission. Does he succeed? Does Jill Pope resolve her issues with her first husband?

That’s something that only watching Criminal can answer!
