Before you ask – yes, we do think that Ralph Wrecks the Internet would be a better title, but “breaking” the Internet is a thing nowadays. Wreck-It Ralph was an awesome movie because it paid homage to all the video game characters we loved like Bowser and Chun Li, utilising them in a meaningful and memorable way (instead of just throwing them in for the sake of it) (we’re looking at you, Ready Player One). Since it’s a Disney film, and Disney owns a bazillion intellectual properties now, we’re super excited to see the new characters who are going to cameo in Ralph Breaks the Internet!

Remember that Disney already has a huge stable of Disney princesses and it owns Marvel and Star Wars as well. Any character from these franchises is fair game, so to see them all together in a giant mash-up is every geek’s dream come true. Here’s what we know about the cameos in Ralph Breaks the Internet so far – and why we’re so excited to see them!

It’s not so much the princesses that we’re excited to see – but the fact that they’re together, rendered in 3D, and some of them are even voiced by their original actresses, like Ariel (Jodi Benson), Belle (Paige O’Hara), Pocahontas (Irene Bedard), Mulan (Ming-Na Wen), Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Rapunzel (Mandy Moore), Merida (Kelly Macdonald), Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel), and Moana (Auli’l Cravalho)!

We know you paused for a bit trying to identify all the princesses in the photo above, right? Highlight the paragraph below for the answer.

Disney princesses from L to R: Anna, Elsa, Merida, Belle, Cinderella (top row); Belle, Tiana, Snow White, Mulan (middle row), Moana, Ariel, Vanellope, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Jasmine (bottom row).

Did you get them all correct? If you did, then you’re probably just as excited as us to catch Vanellope join the princess pantheon in the film and to see many of their original voice actresses listed in the credits roll. We have to admit that 3D-rendered Snow White does look a little odd to us, but all those Disney princess witticisms more than make up for it!

15. Baymax

Big Hero 6 was a surprisingly touching film about brotherly bonds and family love, but the best part of the film was that it gave us the giant cuddly walking marshmallow Baymax! He makes a cameo in Ralph Breaks the Internet when Vanellope visits Oh My Disney in the film, alongside Buzz Lightyear.

We know there’ll be a Toy Story 4 coming soon, so we’ll definitely see Buzz again. But since there hasn’t been any announced sequels for Big Hero 6, this will be one of the few rare sightings of 3D Baymax on the big screen.

16. Stormtroopers

Stormtroopers (that’s one word, Star Wars fans!) also appear in Ralph Breaks the Internet – with speaking roles, as they are voiced by Rich Moore (one of the film’s directors), Kevin Deters, Jeremy Milton and Jesse Averna. They are, of course, none other than the security force for Oh My Disney.

And just in case you’re wondering which era they belong to – these are First Order Stormtroopers (as opposed to Galactic Empire Stormtroopers) from the recent two Star Wars films, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

17. Eeyore

Eeyore makes a sullen appearance in the film, voiced by his modern era voice talent Brad Garrett. Even though depression is not something that should be made fun of, it does bring a smile to our face to see the character of Eeyore popping up to deliver a quip to Vanellope.

Maybe we’ll see Winnie the Pooh visit Sugar Rush in future films – as a honey eater, he’s sure to love the candied treats strewn all over the racing world of Sugar Rush!

18. Groot

Groot appears in Ralph Breaks the Internet – but which Groot will it be? Will it be adult Groot? Potted plant dancing Groot? Baby Groot? Moody teen Groot?

Regardless of Groot’s age in the film, we all know what he’s going to say.

“I am Groot.”

– Groot

Thankfully, Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet finger snap didn’t affect the characters of Ralph Breaks the Internet.

19. Stan Lee

And in what may be one of the most heartwrenching cameos ever, we’re going to see Stan Lee appear in the Ralph Breaks the Internet. Only true believers will catch his short cameo in the film, but it’s guaranteed to make you pause and reflect on his contributions to the pop culture world that birthed films like Ralph Breaks the Internet.

So what exactly does Ralph do that breaks the Internet? I mean, does he really do so, or is that just a metaphor for the hijinks he gets into? Also, how do Ralph and Vanellope get to the Internet? It’s not as if their arcade machines will receive endless online Windows updates to their system. You’ll have to find out in this epic sequel that’s bigger, better and more pop culture-y than Wreck-It Ralph. With a message that resonates with both children and adults, Ralph Breaks the Internet may not break your heart… but it will break your expectations of a sequel. Remember to sit through all the credits for not one, but two bonus scenes!

Wait a minute – could the Facebook outage on Tuesday have been because Ralph Breaks the Internet?
